One of only NINE affiliates in New York State of the Nationally Recognized Keep America Beautiful Organization, Rome Clean and Green is a dedicated group of volunteers whose mission is the beautification and betterment of the world around us, starting in our own community!
Rome Clean and Green is an affiliate of the national Keep America Beautiful organization, serving Rome and the surrounding area since 1991. Clean and Green promotes the KAB mission of creating and sustaining vibrant communities.

End Littering
Littering is an individual behavioral problem or a business problem that can become a problem for your community. Changing a societal norm like littering begins with each of us. Each person must accept responsibility for their actions and influence the actions of others around them at home, at school, in your place of business, and in the community at large. By modeling proper trash and waste disposal, you will cause others to consider changing their behaviors and embodying appropriate actions, too.
Improve Recycling
According to Environmental Protection Agency data, the average American discards approximately 4.3 pounds of trash per day. About 80% of what we throw away can be recycled. Applying the three key factors that Keep America Beautiful has identified: convenience, communication, and cause – we are working to improve recycling in our community. Learn how you can recycle more of what you discard at home, at work, and on-the-go.
Beautify our City
How a city looks is truly its first impression. Whether it is those of us who live and work there each day, or the visitors who pass through, clean, green spaces are what invite people to stay and enjoy what a community has to offer. We’re working hard to keep Rome Clean and Green by planting flowers and trees, community garden development, removal of graffiti, fighting blight, and more.
